| Choosing the right spa |

So thinking about getting a hot tub, eh? There are certainly plenty of brands to choose from. But before you take the plunge into the wonderful world of the home spa, narrow down your search by asking yourself the following:
1. Location: Will this be an indoor or outdoor spa? Do you plan to use the spa year round? Do you want to be able to sit under a starry sky? Would you prefer the privacy of indoors?
2. Size: How many people do you want the spa to seat comfortably? Two? Four? Six? Eight?
3. Jets: How many jets do you need? A standard 10-jet, for example, will provide gentle relaxation, while a 50-jet spa provides more therapeutic massage for specific aches and pains.
3. Color: Is color important? If you need to match a room’s specific color scheme, take note that some lines offer more hues than others.
4. Texture: What type of texture do you prefer? Some brands offer lustrous pearl finishes, while others boast pebble-like textures. You can also ask about antibacterial protection textures that don’t stain or mildew and wipe clean without scrubbing.
5. Seating: Today’s spas offer a variety of seating arrangements, including body contouring lounges, sculpted seats or barrier-free seats.
Whatever spa you choose, be sure that the dealer is licensed, bonded and insured and ask about warranties.
