Michael Strening Jr.
After developing nerve irritation in his carpal and cubital tunnels(the nerve canals of the wrist and elbow), composer/pianist Michael Strening, Jr. thought that his career as a professional musician was over. But after taking a one-year break from playing, and working closely with a massage therapist, Michael has been able to continue his professional career for the last nine years.
In honor of what massage therapy has done for Michael, “Falling Water” is a CD composed, performed, and recorded as a tool for massage therapy, relaxation, meditation, and healing.
Working in collaboration with massage therapists and psychologists, Michael collected music from his previous 3 CDs, and then went into the studio to record 3 more new pieces, to create an hour and ten minute
CD designed to enhance concentration, relaxation, and meditation. All of the pieces are original works for solo piano, and inspired by his three years living in Italy and his battle to keep his professional music career alive.
