From Russia with Love (and Music!)
Does the American Dream still exist? Russian-born Marina V is a Los Angeles-based pop/rock singer, songwriter and pianist, can probably tell you yes, because she is living the American Dream.

Growing up in Soviet Russia, she was told dreams are silly, especially for an aspiring artist. Life as she knew it was all but a fairytale, however, despite the many trials and tribulations, Marina has successfully made
her way to the United States through her creative abilities and perseverance established herself as a venerable artist, whose music The Los Angeles Times calls “hauntingly beautiful.”

Marina’s recently released an aptly titled album, “Modern Fairytale”, which captures vivid imagery and enchanting storytelling while delving into the essential predicaments of life’s universal themes from love and loss, peace and war, to struggles and successes and togetherness
and loneliness. Recorded in Los Angeles at the studio of legendary artist, Graham Nash, “Modern Fairytale” features songs like “Hope,” the pop-driven “The Strength I Need,” the buoyant pop tune “Sunshine Guaranteed,” the
roiling emotions in “Alone,” the cinematic string-filled “Love Me Back,” the cleverly written children’s tale “Rain On The Butterfly,” “Babushka,” sung in Marina
’s native tongue paying homage to her grandmother and the ideal album closer, “Moonlight Lullaby,” which ends
on a positive note that resembles the likes of a child’s music box.

Marina has been touring internationally in support of this beautiful album, connecting with the audiences of all walks of life in venues in New York, London, Paris, Moscow and Sydney to Kodak Theater in Hollywood, the red-headed piano-playing songstress grew up in Moscow, blessed with
an angelic voice & long last name (Verenikina). Raised during the collapse of the Soviet Union in an atypical family (nuclear physicist father, psychologist mother, a military grandmother and her grandfather, an engineer and designer of MIG 29 fighter jets), Marina attended a school of music every evening after regular school, and has
written songs since early childhood.

Marina surprised herself by winning a prestigious scholarship at 15 to study in America for a year. She came back to Russia but promised herself she would return to America and did, at 17, as her parents divorced and her mother left for Australia. Somewhere between visa
issues, crazy odd jobs, missing her family, playing ice hockey and graduating from college in Illinois, Marina has been hard at work pursuing her musical dreams, touring and self-releasing music.

Currently managed by legendary manager, David Krebs (Aerosmith, AC/DC, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, etc), and supported by legions of loyal fans, the environmentally-conscious self-described “cultural ambassador of
sorts” is currently touring internationally, inspiring people with her amazing music, unusual story & beautiful spirit.

The album is available digitally on iTunes, amazon.com, etc. And you can get a signed copy at www.MarinaV.com
