Israel Bissell CD release
With the release of their CD Disillusioned Hero, Israel Bissell has created a new musical genre: Renaissance Rock. The CD has successfully captured the hard bite of rock and injected it with a touch of Renaissance flavor, flowing acoustic instrumentation, orchestration and lyrical imagery, producing a unique collection of songs that are intricate, thought-provoking and eclectic. In addition to the traditional use of electric and acoustic guitars, bass, keyboard and drums, Bissell has incorporated flute, sitar, mandolin, bodhran, pipe organ and orchestra into their original music. From the haunting love song "Angel Wings," the critically acclaimed “Hardwood Floor,” social awareness of "City by the Bay," and hard-hitting force of "Monkey Wrench," Bissell ushers in a return to the days when musicians and poets combined their talents to create musical and lyrical imagery, inspiring a generation. Fans compare Israel Bissell to the rock group Jethro Tull. This is due in part to the "alley-cat" sounding flute of Chuck Preble, piercing lead guitar work of Mark Bacilla, and the complicated musical arrangements of the electric pieces offset by intricate acoustic pieces. With Disillusioned Hero, the band harkens back to the days of classic rock and poetry. Israel Bissell’s Disillusioned Hero is available on cdbaby.com/cd/israelbissell Price: $12.95

What a unique CD experience! Really enjoyed the mix of songs, instrumentation and lyrical imagery. Like a flashback to the progressive rock bands of the 1970s. Also admire the band's idea of donating a percentage of the royalties to the homeless. Worth the price of admission for this ride!
