Russo is an independent artist who began her music career in Minneapolis heading up a variety of jam, jazz, folk and funk bands until she headed out on her own in 2001.
As a solo artist she moves effortlessly from sweet folk to raw energy to aggressive funk - a synergistic mixture of music and stories - sometimes outrageous, sometimes intense and always original.
Russo’s new CD, little white box, explodes with colourful surprises – notes from a long forgotten friend, a place to kick back, here’s a postcard from that trip to the beach, there’s even a lucky penny.
