| LONE TREE
Where urban culture meets enlightened development
As you might expect from one of Colorado’s newest cities, Lone Tree is growing quickly. But the south Denver suburb is careful in its development, implementing community‑focused and eco‑friendly design concepts and building practices to embrace what some call “mindful living in an urban setting.”
All City-made decisions are based on Lone Tree’s 2008 Comprehensive Plan, which uses a “neo traditional” model to minimize things like ecological-impact, emergency service response time, and the need for automobiles. In doing so, Lone Tree has created a balanced community for residents, visitors and wildlife. So while the City ensured there are plenty of things to see and do, it also ensured they were created in a responsible way and with the community’s best interest at heart. Here are just some of the things that make Lone Tree a great place to live, work, play and visit.

Many of the shopping districts also provide an abundance of restaurants offering diverse menus. Virtually every budget and taste can be accommodated.
ARTS & CULTURE
The City of Lone Tree works with various groups and organizations to provide cultural opportunities to the community and surrounding area. Some of the more popular events are:
Lone Tree Summer Concert Series -- Throughout the summer you can enjoy free family concerts at Sweetwater Park. Onsite concessions, caricature artists and activities for kids make these nights even more special.
The Independence Day Celebration -- 2010 will mark the City’s 13th annual Independence Day Celebration. The event features a community parade, live entertainment, activities for kids, food vendors, the Firecracker 5K Run and fireworks.
The Lone Tree Photography Show and Sale -- This annual event presented by the Lone Tree Photography Club, the City and the Lone Tree Arts Commission includes a juried exhibition, reception, live musical performance and the opportunity to meet the artists.
The Lone Tree Art Exhibition -- The Lone Tree Arts Commission holds an annual exhibition and sale featuring a variety of media. Meet the artists, enjoy refreshments and purchase original work.
Passport to Culture -- Every third Sunday, the Lone Tree Recreation Center offers youth workshops in dance, acting, singing and movement. Children learn about cultures from around the world, experiment in art, participate in theater and take home individual crafts.
RECREATION
Lone Tree has a modern recreation center for residents, which offers a variety of health, fitness, nature and wellness programs. One-day passes are available to visitors who wish to use the facility. The new pool, Cook Creek, includes a 4,600-square-foot outdoor leisure pool with a 23-foot tower slide, zero-depth entry, basketball hoops, an interactive water feature, a lap pool, shade structures and group picnic pavilion. Other family options around the City’s parks include miniature golf, tennis and picnicking. Golfers can enjoy the Lone Tree Golf Club and Hotel, which includes a 18-hole, par 72 regional championship course -- designed by Arnold Palmer.
The weather in Lone Tree provides a wealth of options to enjoy parks, trails and open space. A vast network of hiking and walking trails wind throughout the City. Added in May 2009, Prairie Sky Park sits on 9.6 acres with spectacular mountain and downtown views, multi-purpose playing fields, benches, a shelter, two playgrounds and a walking/jogging path.
