New Orleans at the Vineyard featuring John Boutté | music, event, fundraiser, KUVO, concert, New Orleans, John Boutte
Mark your calendar for what might just be the most perfect night of your summer. Saturday, August 9, jazz89 KUVO will be hosting a delicious fundraising event at Balisteri Vineyards. From 6 p.m. until 10 p.m., guests can enjoy New Orleans-style culinary delights and a wide variety of wines, including the new 2008 KUVO Signature Wine. Perhaps best of all, an amazing performance by John Boutté. John Boutté has won Best Male Vocalist year after year at both the Best of the Beat Awards (including the most recent 2007 award) and the Big Easy Awards. His critically acclaimed collaboration with Cubanismo, Mardi Gras Mambo, won multiple awards including a Big Easy Award for Best Latin Album, and a Best of the Beat award for Best Latin Album by a Louisiana Artist. Boutté lives and breathes the heart and soul of New Orleans.Born into a large Creole family that goes back seven generations in Louisiana, he was exposed to music early in life, soaking up New Orleans jazz, soul, blues and gospel, then adding his own Creole traditions along the way. Today, John Boutté works with a wonderful amalgam of styles – from torchy jazz to aching soul and African-American gospel – all convincingly delivered. As Arturo Gómez, jazz89 KUVO Music Director says, “Like a good bowl of N’Awlins style red beans ‘n rice, Boutté is so nice you’ll want to be served twice.” Proceeds from the event will go toward supporting public radio KUVO’s commitment to provide the community with the very best in jazz, Latin jazz and blues. Tickets are $55 per person, $99 for two, and $2,500 per corporate table for 10 (reserved seating). This event is supported by Balistreri Vineyards, Dream Italia, Brothers BBQ, Gumbo’s and The Wright Group. Ballistreri Vineyards is located at 1946 E. 66th Avenue in Denver.
