Justin Roberts, known for his smart lyrics and power pop sound, has just released his sixth family music CD, Pop Fly. This new collection of 11 original tunes soars musically and lyrically. Justin and the Not Ready for Naptime Players appear at the Boulder Theater on March 14th The title track was inspired by Justin’s own early experiences as a failed Little Leaguer. In addition, several members of Justin's touring band, the Not Ready for Naptime Players, are true baseball fanatics. During a recent tour, Liam Davis (the multi-instrumentalist and producer of Justin’s CDs) was recounting how he could never pay attention when in the outfield. Justin turned this age-old story into a song about the occasional triumphs of a distracted and distraught outfielder. Justin Roberts is one of America’s top children’s recording artists and performers. With a sound that’s more akin to Fountains of Wayne than Romper Room, Roberts blends his deft indie-pop sensibilities with a keen understanding of what it’s like to be a kid.
