The Tubbs Romp to Stomp out Breast Cancer Snowshoe event is coming to the Frisco Nordic Center, Saturday March 7th. This wonderful event helps to raise awareness for breast cancer and money for the Denver Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
The Romp to Stomp includes a 3K snowshoe race at 9:00am and a 3 or 5K snowshoe walk with two start options at 9:30 and 9:45am. Race participants will compete for first place trophies in five categories; men’s, women’s, masters men’s and women’s and breast cancer survivor. Tubbs snowshoes will provide limited quantities of free demo snowshoes for use on a first- come, first-served basis.
Other activities for the day include a free pancake breakfast sponsored by Wells Fargo, entertainment by Nancy Cook, sponsor displays, a huge raffle, survivor tribute and a lot of good fun. All participants receive a goody bag. Form a team of more than ten friends and co-workers to enjoy the day with you! There are team prizes for the one raising the most money and the team with the best costume.
All participants who collect pre-event pledges will be entered into drawings for tons of great outdoor gear. One grand prize package will be given out to the participant who raises the most in pre-event pledges.
New for this year! Tubbs and the Town of Frisco are committed to making this year’s event better by scheduling pre-event, packet pick-up times so participants can avoid Romp-day lines and by capping registration numbers to respect the impact on our trails, the safety of participants, and to insure a positive experience to help fight breast cancer. Packet pick-up and pre-registration will be held on Saturday, February 28th at the following locations:
Wells Fargo locations in Summit County 9am- noon
Columbia Store at the Silverthorne Outlets 10am – 2pm
Denver REI Store Noon- 4pm

Can’t make the date? Snowed-in? Whatever the reason, if you can’t make it to the Romp, you can still participate. Just register for ‘Snowed in for the Cure’. You’ll be supporting a great cause and still feel like you’re part of the action. Snowed in for the Cure registrants will receive a Romp to Stomp goody bag while supplies last!
Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the nation’s largest private provider of funds for breast cancer research and community outreach programs. It is a foundation borne out the poignant request of one dying sister to another and a foundation committed to eradicating the horrible disease. Its’ mission – the cure and control of breast cancer – is an important one to all women, family and friends.
