Gastrointestinal bloating isn't just a byproduct of gassy build up in the stomach, sometimes it can be a symptom of something more serious. Bloating in the stomach or intestinal tract can be caused by several things. Gaining weight, constipation, and bloating are all a result of our indulgence due to over eating during the holiday season.
Stomach bloating results from “distention” of the abdomen. In other words, the walls of your lower abdomen are being pushed out.
Talk to you Doctor about getting something that will increase the motility in your stomach so food doesn't sit there so long. Talking with your mouth full, eating too fast and gulping down drinks all cause the intake of extra air, and consequentially bloating. Another one from mom, “Chew with your mouth closed” will also help stop intake of extra air and stop bloating. Avoiding food isn't really a healthy way to treat bloating.
Digestion is among the most important of metabolic processes in the human body. At the same time, the digestive system is particularly susceptible to illness, disease and malfunction.
Gas forming bacteria generally feed on certain carbohydrates and sugars. So, if these carbohydrates are reduced or eliminated from the diet, rectal gas can usually be significantly reduced. Gas-x, Beano, and Flatulex are the most common bloating relief, gas medications available over-the-counter. If flatulence, bloating, and gas are a constant problem and cause more pain than you can handle, your doctor may end up prescribing you a stronger medication and sometimes even a liquid that helps to prevent abdominal contractions.
Stomach bloating is not simply an inconvenience. For those who suffer from it, it can be extremely distressing and at times incapacitating. Stomach bloating and flatulence are two common digestive problems. Women seem to suffer more from stomach bloating, possibly for hormonal reasons, while men seem to report problems with flatulence more often.
Drink more water to get rid of bloating as it flushes waste out of your body system especially if you're constipated. Eat fruits and vegetables especially oranges and watermelons as they are also 80%-90% water. Start eating regular yogurt if you aren’t already eating it, then move on to Activia
