Terra Guitarra: Landscape of Guitars

Terra Guitarra's sound has been described as "a musical landscape of guitar".
It is brilliant Spanish guitar compositions with world rhythms that conjure up Parisian cafes, epic journeys and moonlit alleyways.
Main guitarist Bruce Hecksel, also of popular acoustic duo Patchouli, began the Terra Guitarra project last year as a documentation to capture his musical impressions on guitar of the many places he has comes across in his travels and how they resonate musically. From his morning walks along the Rush River to the wind on the prairies, to European ancient cobblestones and watching smoldering sunsets and the emergence of the Harvest moon over the water.
He writes on his website www.terraguitarra.com "The songs in this collection were received whole as compositions from the land itself, held in my mind and immediately recorded on guitar to captivate the original voice of the place...It seemed as if I was hearing the voice of the land simply reveling in its existence. Through this project I had a sense the Earth was itself reaching out to balance my energy and emotions and in so doing imparted its essence in these melodies. It is my hope that Terra Guitarra will speak to you in it’s own way on your listening journey."

Since the recent release of Terra Guitarra's debut album, it has been speaking to a worldwide audience, and the overwhelming response to the music inspired Hecksel to record a holiday instrumental CD Winter Solstice, which released December 2008.

Hecksel is joined by musical partner Julie Patchouli on rhythm guitar and conguero Willy Crow Mojo, who make up the rest of the trio and both perform on the CDTerra Guitarra.
