The Energy: Realize Your Sin
The Energy: Realize Your Sin
In New York City alone, there are hundreds of musical artists trying to make their way toward success -- some with massive talent, others with gimmicks, and some with both. There are no gimmicks with Brooklyn based rock quartet The Energy, only pure ability and great songs that are delivered by four guys whose music stays true to the band’s name. The Energy is a throwback to the likes of Journey and Cheap Trick, combining elements of arena rock with an indie sensibility, and they are back with a third album, Realize Your Sin (March 31, 2009). The Energy (Adam Wolfsdorf, vocals; Ian VanderMeulen, guitar; Zach Thomas, drums; and James Clifford, bass) has become one of the top-drawing original bands in the Northeast. They began as a cover band and since they began writing and recording their own material, and have seen a new level of excitement among fans, becoming the first unsigned act to sell out New York’s Blender Theater. They have also shared the stage with the likes of Eve 6, Ryan Cabrera, Fastball, Nine Days and Colin Hay and have enjoyed placements of their music on MTV’s The Real World: Hollywood among other shows. In addition, The Energy was selected by powerhouse NYC radio station Z100 for its New! Contest, which highlights emerging artists.
