Due to the altitude, sunglasses are a must-have in Colorado. Here are a few tips to consider when purchasing sunglass eyewear.
• Purchase from a reputable/knowledgeable dealer who can educate you on what is best for your life style.
• Determine your need for the glass. Is it for fashion or performance or physical activity?
• Discuss the features and benefits of the frames’ style. What looks good on your facial shape? Which lens color is best suited for each light condition (this is visible light transmission)? Do you need interchangeable lenses for different light conditions and/or activities?
• Polarized lenses can block out the three types of glare; reflected, direct, and bounce back. Do you need protection from the evil light (glare)? Visual acuity can be enhanced with polarized lenses. • Do you prefer glass or polycarbonate lenses? Is weight an issue with comfort?
• Consider only a minimum of UV400 lens. Most sunglasses are UV400 but can offer other variants such as UV-A, UV-B and UV-C spectrum protection. Inexpensive sunglasses usually offer only minimal protection and use inexpensive materials and single filters.
• Determine your budget and shop where there is a large selection and a wide variety of quality eyewear, from top brand and leading eyewear manufacturers.
