Visiting Edwards, Colorado
Back in 1853, Edwards was a tranquil farming and ranching community. These days, Edwards is considered one of the top destinations in America by Ski Magazine. With over 400 businesses–mostly locally owned–there is a vast array of unusual retail shops, local services, and sumptuous restaurants, as well as a movie theater, various art galleries, six championship golf courses and two nearby year-round resorts, Vail and Beaver Creek.

Although Edwards is the fastest-growing community in the Vail Valley, it still boasts down-home friendliness and the spirit of the Old West.

Just minutes from Vail and Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead ski areas, Edwards is nestled along the beautiful Eagle River and is known as “Down Valley.” Seven very unique shopping districts, all within walking distance of each other, make up the community of Edwards.

Browse a locally owned bookstore, explore the many art galleries, or visit beautiful designer showrooms, home decorating and kitchen stores. Shop for treasures from all over the West, including unique gifts, antiques, fine art, boutique and casual clothing, jewelry and an array of furniture and home accents. In addition, Edwards has a quaint hotel, a full-service, locally owned grocery store, a brew pub and several coffee shops. You can also indulge yourself in homemade ice cream, sandwiches and baked goods, gourmet cheese, wine, beer and various spirits. Last but not least, visit the many restaurants in and around Edwards that have renowned, award-winning chefs. There are over 20 restaurants offering a variety of cuisine.

Recreational activities abound in Edwards. You can ski and snowshoe, experience world-class fly fishing on the Eagle River, take in the thrill of whitewater rafting and/or kayaking, or just walk along the banks of the river enjoying a picnic on a beautiful, sun-filled afternoon. There is also hot-air ballooning, hiking, biking, horseback riding and golfing.

If you’re planning to stay in Eagle County or just passing through, make an effort to stop by and experience Edwards – a place where you can taste the true flavor of Colorado.
